Overview
My client is at the forefront of developing innovative traffic management solutions. They are dedicated to enhancing road safety and efficiency through cutting-edge technology. The team is growing, and they are looking for a talented Tester to join in their mission to create smarter and safer traffic systems.
Role
Our products and services touch many aspects of everyday mobility including the future of
Autonomous Connected Vehicles, Clean Air Zones, Speed and Bus Lane Enforcement, Congestion
Charging, and Electric Vehicle Charging. If you drove or took public transport today, you almost
certainly interacted with what we do every day to keep our roads safe and running freely.
The developers in our R&D team are responsible for the creation of innovative mobility solutions in
the United Kingdom and Worldwide. The systems deployed typically utilise core sub-systems and
products along with customer specific developments and configuration.
The Software Tester will be working on large customer developments. The teams are working on
Clean Air Zone, Average Speed and Congestion Charging systems that will improve the lives of the
public in the UK by keeping pollution levels in the major cities to an acceptable level. The teams are
multi-disciplinary, consisting of Angular, Node JS and Java developers as well as testers performing
manual and automated testing using frameworks and APIs such as Cypress, Cucumber, Serenity,
Postman and Insomnia. You will be bringing your experience of sprint testing, system testing (manual
and automated) and customer facing integration/acceptance testing as we build and improve our
modern AWS hosted solutions for different customers.
Key Responsibilities
- You have experience of writing formal tests derived from requirements and acceptance criteria from various sources
- You enjoy and are able to develop and implement automated testing (using existing frameworks), which will be used for regression purposes.
- You actively participate in project-wide reviews of stories and design documents, including input into the acceptance criteria.
- You have exposure to tools such as GitLab, Docker, Jira, Xray and Confluence.
- You have experience testing within a cloud environment (i.e. AWS).
- You can demonstrate experience of successfully working within time, quality and budget constraints.
- You are an effective communicator able to interact with all stakeholders, with strong oral and written communication skills.
- You will investigate software defects and debug software of major scale and complexity
- You will encourage a culture of continuous improvement and have a positive attitude.
- You will report progress to the Test Manager.
Experience Required
- 3-4 years of experience in software testing.
- Proficient in both manual and automation testing.
- ISQTB Foundation in Software Testing accreditation, or similar certification.
- Strong background in sprint and system testing within Agile environments.
- Proficiency in Python for writing test scripts.
- Solid understanding of test plan development and execution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Engineering background or similar educational qualifications preferred.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools.
