Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our procurement team, specialising in indirect procurement areas including office & factory supplies, travel, fleet, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement with a focus on new vendor processes, data analysis, and experience with excel. This role requires developing and implementing cost-saving strategies, strong negotiation skills, and maintaining stakeholder relationships while ensuring continuity of supply and promoting sustainability..

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Expertise:

• Manage procurement processes for travel, fleet, and logistics, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
• Utilise SAP/SAP Ariba for procurement activities, with preferred experience in these platforms.
• Conduct thorough data analysis using Excel to inform procurement decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Cost-saving Strategies:

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve cost savings across procurement categories.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and contracts with vendors.

 

Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
• Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing support and resolving issues promptly.

Continuity of Supply and Sustainability:

• Ensure continuity of supply for business operations while striving to increase sustainability in procurement practices.
• Collaborate with commodity managers across the UK to understand and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.

Vendor Management:

• Manage the new vendor database, including onboarding processes and vendor performance evaluations.
• Work closely with the Operational Procurement Service Centre for administrative support, focusing on vendor management and database maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as an Indirect Procurement Buyer, preferably in travel, fleet, and logistics procurement.
• Skilled in data analysis using Excel.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to develop cost-saving strategies.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles in procurement practices is desirable.
