We are looking for an experienced Digital Project Manager to establish and lead enterprise-wide cross-functional strategic initiatives. Responsible for project management leadership, delivery, governance and the day-to-day management of one or more Information Technology projects.

Role: 

The Digital Project Manager will drive and deliver digital projects business change in line with agreed time, cost, and quality criteria, working collaboratively with stakeholders to take digital projects from initiation through to closure. They will be responsible for creating and owning project plans and proactively assessing & managing risks, issues, and dependencies, etc., in line with internal and external requirements, to ensure successful delivery. You will manage and control project finances, project plans, RAIDs and change control, resource plans, & ensure a clear understanding of supplier agreements and management information for example– to ensure project activities are controlled, reported and in line with company quality and audit standards.

This role will be expected to work with a wide range of stakeholders across all business functions – including IT architects, product and business leads, engineering, development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multi discipline and global teams (internal resources and third parties/vendors) for the flawless execution of projects from requirements definition through to deployment, providing clear direction and guidance to team members.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility (including the capture of business and operational requirements)
  • Capture and define business benefits and benefit management plans and maintain the associated business cases to ensure the project remains viable.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered within agreed timescales, scope and budget;
  • Negotiate to ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, quality and costs, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Provide status reporting to management stakeholders on a regular, agreed upon basis on strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders, especially in a demanding environment where unexpected issues may arise 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation; follow project management methodology, gated review and standard operating procedures
  • Escalate project issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate change requests and risk and issue management, maintain flexibility, and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources—including third-party vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilise best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead the project team in meeting customer/user expectations and project deliverables.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation/lessons learnt

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, information technology or related fields. 
  • A minimum of  5 years of proven solid project management experience as a project manager & a minimum of 3 years  in the digital, and information technology sectors
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, procedures, practices and tools (waterfall, agile, blended)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer management skills with advanced problem solving skills the ability to think critically and solve problems under pressure
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle – from initiation to transfer to service.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good understanding of digital technologies and knowledge of digital and/or general IT architecture is important for effective decision-making and problem-solving
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Project Management or Agile certifications are a plus (e.g., APM/PMP/PRINCE2/Agile)
  • Familiarity with project management software tools for budgeting, planning, tracking, governance, etc.
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
  • The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure is essential in a demanding environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability and extremely resourceful ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the project team or with other departments.
  • Skilled in delivering change management and business transformation. 
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. 
  • The ability to think critically and solve problems under pressure.
  • The ability to remain focused at a strategic level & able to delve into the detail to understand problems where necessary.
