About your team

Our Client’s Financial Crime Operations business area (“FinCrime”) delivers Know your Customer | Customer Due Diligence | Anti-Money Laundering and Transaction Monitoring programmes for their clients. Made up of over 600 experienced staff, the business works with their clients to rapidly mobilise, deliver, and manage large scale programmes, in line with their specific financial crime risks and AML regulatory standards. They have project experience on over 100 Customer Due Diligence projects in the last 5 years and have provided onboarding or KYC refresh on 50,000+ files.

 

Candidates from all levels (AML, KYC, QA Quality Assurance, QC Quality Control, MLRO, Financial Crime) are encouraged to apply as this will be part of a large scale team. Candidates at different levels will be undertaking different tasks but the below offers an exemplar of what you would be expected to do.

 

Scope of the role (COD)

  • Conducting KYC reviews for the onboarding of new clients, as well as periodic and trigger event reviews of existing clients in compliance with internal standards and procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Gathering customer related information and documentation for analysis
  • Assessing financial crime risk, e.g. AML, CTF, ABC, etc.
  • Completing customer risk assessments to Identify indicators of higher risk relationships and conducting EDD (e.g. high-risk industry, PEP or Sanctions nexus, etc. linked to customer’s nature of business)
  • Understanding and assessment of complex business structures
  • Assessment of negative media screening
  • Escalate red flags identified indicative of higher risk
  • Liaising with Relationship Managers, Clients and Senior Management
  • Reporting any suspicions or unusual significant activities to the local Money Laundering Reporting Officer
  • Apply subject matter expertise to reduce Financial Crime Risk to the bank
  • Provide MI information to Management
  • Participate in project work and contribute to development of internal processes, guidance and procedures
  • Control Analysis planning and delivery to drive risk-based outcomes from internal reviews.
  • QA/QC testing of financial crime related processes.
  • Support development and delivery of QA/QC framework in CEMEA first line.
  • Undertaking first line monitoring on a regular and thematic basis, as agreed with Head of R&Q and Head of QA/QC. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise on QA/QC linked to Financial Crime Risk.
  • Participate in, or lead, as necessary on project related activity linked to QA/QC.
  • Contribute to process / procedure enhancement, particularly for Financial Crime Risk.

About you 

  • Experience of AML/CTF/KYC in a financial services environment
  • PC literate with proficiency across Microsoft Suite
  • Good awareness of UK regulatory requirements for Financial Crime, especially AML/CTF, and of UK Good practice (per guidance issued by FCA and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group)
  • Financial Crime Qualification advantageous but not essential (CAMS, ICA, ACAMS)
  • Assurance-testing conformity with policy and compliance with UK regulatory requirements, covering AML/CTF, Financial Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (including as part of Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring and Name/Payment Screening).
